On March 1992, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan order Urgench branch of the first Tashkent State Medical Institute was organized on the base of Khorezm Regional Center for Professional Development of Medical Workers.

To create conveniences for students of Urgench branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy, in particular, for foreign students, dormitories have been set up in the Fergana branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy. There are all the conveniences for living in dormitories.
Foreign students studying in educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan are fully protected with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other legislative acts. As well as, foreign students are required to comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other legislative documents.
